Canvas in Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District

Condos from $240,000

September 29, 2014

Joel Greene here from Condo Hotel Center.

Earlier this week I was reading The Miami Herald and happened to see mention of a new restaurant to be built in Miami by Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio Estefan.  I’ve always been a fan of Gloria’s not only for her great music but also for all she’s done for Miami.  She’s generously given time and money to many local causes.

Gloria and Emilio have owned several popular restaurants and hotels here too.  Their new restaurant will be called Estefan Kitchen and, if it’s like some of their other eateries, will offer the best of Cuban fare.  Fried plantains, anyone?

Shortly after reading about the Estefan’s restaurant plans, I learned of a new condo tower to be built just one block away!  The location is in the Arts & Entertainment District, one of Miami’s most dynamic new neighborhoods.  And the condo tower, not Gloria unfortunately, is the focus of today’s Property Alert.  Read on for details, especially if you like Cuban food.

Canvas will be a 37-floor condo development in an exciting new neighborhood.

Canvas in Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District

Canvas will be a new construction development soaring 37 stories above Miami.  It will have 513 luxury condominium residences.

Canvas will feature a contemporary design with a glass facade.

With its modern design, dramatic scale and mostly glass facade, Canvas is destined to become a landmark in the rapidly evolving landscape immediately north of downtown Miami.

Among Canvas’s many amenities will be sunrise and sunset pools.

Luxury Amenities

Canvas will offer a long list of amenities including:

  • Sunrise and sunset pools
  • Lush gardens
  • BBQ area
  • Indoor and outdoor lounge
  • Professionally staffed spa with sauna and steam room
  • 8,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art fitness center
  • Meditation and yoga garden
  • Game room with billiard tables
  • Racquetball court
  • Jam session and sound room
  • Cinema room
  • Business center

In addition, Canvas will provide complimentary 24-hour valet parking, 24-hour attended security services and on-demand concierge service.

Canvas will offer indoor and outdoor common areas for socializing and relaxing.

Spacious Condos

The individual condos at Canvas will feature expansive energy-efficient, floor‐to‐ceiling windows and oversized balconies offering dramatic Port of Miami, city and bay views.  They’ll be delivered with finished flooring throughout.

Enjoy views of the Atlantic Ocean, Biscayne Bay and downtown Miami.

Kitchens will have modern-design European cabinetry, quartz countertops, high end stainless steel appliances and 12” X 24” porcelain tile floors.

Contemporary styling and high-end appliances will create designer kitchens.

The master baths will have frameless glass bath enclosures, designer fixtures and accessories as well as 24” X 24” porcelain tile floors.

Master baths will be spacious rooms with fashionable fixtures.

Canvas will be a “smart building” pre-wired with fiber optics for high-speed Internet, data/voice and cable TV.

Like the living room, the bedroom will offer panoramic views through oversized windows.

The Arts & Entertainment District

Canvas will be located in Miami’s Arts and Entertainment District, which has seen a renaissance in its residential, culinary, entertainment and nightlife offerings.

It is home to over 130 art galleries, 12 art studios and five art fairs.  Additionally, every second Saturday of the month is the community-wide Art Walk when the galleries, art studios, antique dealers, eateries and bars open their doors to the public for art, music and refreshments.

Canvas is in the center of all the action.  Its residents can enjoy immediate access to the neighboring Adrianne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Arts & Science Museums, American Airlines Arena and Resorts World Miami.

At a cost of $3.1 billion, Resorts World Miami will have retail, entertainment and dining venues.

Resorts World Miami is the name of a 13.9-acre major development being built in downtown Miami by the Malaysian-based Genting Group.  At 10 million square feet and with an estimated cost of $3.1 billion, it is considered one of the largest developments in the history of Florida.

It will contain bars and nightclubs, a luxury galleria consisting of vast amounts of retail, entertainment and convention space as well as other unique amenities, including one of the largest swimming pools in the world.

The Canvas Development Team

The developer of Canvas is NR Investments, a real estate investment and management firm that has acquired over 8,000 residential units and five-million square feet of office space throughout Florida, New York, Europe and South America.

This will be the view of Biscayne Bay and the port from Canvas’ 35th floor.

Architecture for Canvas is by CFE Architects, one of the top architectural firms designing luxury high-rises through South Florida.  Some of their previous projects include: HYDE Hollywood, Apogee Ft. Lauderdale, Brickell on the River, ECHO Brickell, Millecento and Baltus House.

The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You

Ever since reading about Gloria Estefan’s proposed new restaurant, I can’t get her hit song, “The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” out of my head.  I guess it’s true: the rhythm got me.

If the idea of owning a beautiful condo amid all the excitement of Miami’s Arts & Entertainment District appeals to you, not to mention hanging out with the Estefans, I hope you’ll give me a call.  I’d be glad to give you a tour of the area and even buy you lunch at my favorite Cuban restaurant.

As always, thank you for reading my Property Alert.  Please feel free to pass it along to anyone you think might be interested in a Miami-area condo.
