Maya Royale, Five-Star Property on the Beach

When I was a little kid growing up in Miami Beach, my maternal grandparents, who lived in the Bronx, NY, would come to visit us once a year for about one week. We’d all go to the airport to pick them up. They’d arrive with four immense suitcases. This was long before the airlines charged for extra baggage.
My sister and I always hoped all that luggage meant plenty of presents for us, but unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Instead, nearly all of those bags were filled with food!
My grandparents were religious Jews who ate strictly kosher, and we did not. So Grandma and Grandpa would bring all of their own food for the entire week. They even brought their own dishes and silverware, as ours had been soiled by unkosher foods. It was quite the production for them to visit, and for the same reason, they rarely traveled anywhere else.
This week, I learned about a property that my grandparents would have enjoyed. It’s a condo hotel resort in Campeche, Mexico, and it serves kosher food prepared by a team of certified kosher chefs.
Grandma and Grandpa, were they still alive, could have filled a small carry-on with just their bathing suits and sunscreen and enjoyed a care-free tropical vacation. But kosher food isn’t all they would have liked about this resort. Read on for details.
Luxury Resort in a Small, Coastal Town
Maya Royale will be a condo hotel resort spanning 27 acres, overlooking a 15-mile beach and nestled within a protected wildlife sanctuary. It is located in Sabancuy, a coastal town in Campeche, Mexico, along the Gulf side of the Yucatan Peninsula.
The resort will have three phases totaling 200 condo hotel units. The first phase consists of 50 units, and that’s what I’m able to offer you today.
Owners at this property will have an opportunity to participate in a professionally managed rental program. Use your vacation home when you’d like and place it in the rental program to earn revenue when you’re not there.
Five-Star Amenities
As I mentioned at the top, Maya Royale will offer distinctive kosher food. In fact it will have three kosher restaurants crafted by global chefs as well as Mediterranean, Italian and select Mayan dishes. There will also be an on-site synagogue. Grandma and Grandpa would have loved that!
Other amenities will include:
- Two-story, open-space reception and lobby
- Multiple bars at the restaurant and beachside
- Beach and day club with live entertainment amid a vibrant social scene
- Two pools: 1) boutique pool and 2) pool with cabanas and deck
- Dead Sea Spa with healing water imported directly from the Dead Sea

- Business center
- Boutique-sized casino, roughly 3,000 sq. ft.
- Shops and concession stands throughout the property
- On-premises sea turtle care center
The resort will also offer full services:

- 24-hour security team
- Multi-lingual hotel concierge
- Valet and doormen services
- In-room or beachside massages
- Beach and poolside services
- Personal-style butler service and maid service
- Hassle-free transportation with airport shuttle service
A Beautiful Location
Maya Royale will be one of the only resorts in Sebancuy. The town is nestled on the Gulf of Mexico along the exclusive Palmer Peninsula. Its pristine beaches are notably less crowded than others in Mexico, and the local area boasts breathtaking natural beauty as well as numerous historical and cultural sites you can explore.
Sabancuy has two international airports and there’s also the new Mayan Train, which interconnects the main cities, attractions, and archaeological sites related to the Mayan culture. It spans approximately 1,000 miles, making it easy to travel to anywhere in the Yucatan Peninsula.
Fully Furnished Condo Hotel Units
Construction on Maya Royale is expected to begin in the second quarter of this year and to be complete by the end of 2025. The individual condo hotel units will be delivered fully furnished and ready for use. They’re designed as suites with 550 to 650 square feet.

Remembering Grandpa Sam and Grandma Anna

As I mentioned, my grandparents would have loved Maya Royale for its kosher food and temple. Unfortunately, they’re no longer with us. Grandpa died at age 90. Grandma lived to 107, but used to tell people she was only 105. She lied about her age most of her life because she wanted her husband to believe he was married to a younger woman. True story. Oy vey!
