The finality of the situation hit me this past week when I learned that LeBron had put his 16,678 square-foot estate in Coconut Grove, Florida on the market for $17 million.

James bought the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home on the waterfront in 2010, his first season with the Heat.  The home features a custom theater, wine cellar, outdoor kitchen and infinity pool, among other amenities.  If you’re interested in making an offer, let me know.

Charming Coconut Grove

Originally settled in the 1800s, Coconut Grove remains a charming, bayside village within the urban dynamic of Miami.  Known to locals as “The Grove,” it’s one of the hippest, most energetic corners of South Florida.  It is loved by many for the clear blue waters of Biscayne Bay that surround the area, the lush tropical landscape and year-round sunshine.

The Grove is home to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, elegant hotels, the Miami Science Museum, and CocoWalk, a large shopping and dining district.

Many special events are held there throughout the year, including the world-renowned annual Coconut Grove Arts Festival on President’s Day weekend.  The three-day event showcases the work of hundreds of artists amid a variety of live entertainment.

An Exceptional Development Team

Creating Park Grove are two of South Florida’s more experienced developers, Terra Group and The Related Group.  They’ve combined their expertise with a world-class team of leading architects and designers.

Park Grove is being built by The Related Group and Terra Group, Miami’s leading developers.

Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rem Koolhaas’s OMA division designed Park Grove’s elegant towers.  The lobby and 50,000 sq. ft. of amenity areas are credited to William Sofield, known for his Mondernist style.  The six acres of lush gardens were designed by Swiss-born landscaping artist, Enzo Enea.

Prices Start at $535,000

The three towers of Park Grove will have a total of 256 residences.  Groundbreaking is scheduled for early 2015, with completion of Phase I (inclusive of Tower 2 and Tower 3) projected for spring 2017.

Construction on Phase I of Park Grove will begin in early 2015.

Currently, the developer is only taking reservations for the condos in Towers 2 and 3.  They range from one- to four-bedroom units and from 747 sq. ft. to 3,592 sq. ft. plus expansive balconies.  Prices range from $535,000 to $4.5 million.

The King’s Mansion

At the beginning of this write-up I mentioned LeBron’s impressive $17 million mansion.  He has owned that home for about four years, having purchased it in 2010 for a mere $9 million.
